I don't claim to be a financial wizard, but in talking to a friend today that still doesn't have a credit card (at the age of 23), I got thinking about personal finance.
As Charles A. Jaffe said, "It's not your salary that makes you rich; it's your spending habits." I cannot agree more.
Take the time to learn about personal finance and develop responsible habits. Some say finance is 20% knowledge and 80% habit. Just as in anything, only the people who apply what they learn see the benefits.
Start building your credit, qualify for special reward cards and put your money to work for you. Just today, I earned flight miles to anywhere in the Nation on my new AAdvantage credit card. There are great earning opportunities out there. Take advantage of them.
I love the quote by Warren Buffet, "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die." I believe this is true.
And as always, it's not only about the money. It's about earning a comfortable living for yourself, so you can better help your lineage and those around you. This world is greatly in need of more people who are willing to give. You can be that person.
